Domestic and international cuisine with an emphasis on seasonality, emotion and the dining experience.
Culinary art under the leadership of Daniel Marek
Local, traditional, yet innovative with an emphasis on freshness and seasonality, that is the cuisine of Hotel Elizabeth, which Executive Chef Daniel Marek has been leading since May 2022.
"My culinary beginnings date back to my grandmother's kitchen, I got the inspiration to become a chef from my brother." The Executive Chef of Hotel Elizabeth told us.
Daniel began gaining valuable experience during his high school studies, initially working in his hometown of Dubnica nad Váhom, where he met Chef Vojt Artz. As his assistant, he participated in running a cooking school and private cooking courses.
Goal-oriented Daniel always had high goals and at the age of 25 saw himself in a different place. It was at this time that he learned about an offer from the renowned Chef Jared Židek. Although the stress and respect from the position prevailed, Daniel became part of the kitchen of the prestigious Albrecht restaurant in Bratislava. Gradually, through hard work in every position in the kitchen, Daniel not only became the assistant chef, but later, on the recommendation of Jared Židek himself, he took over the position of chef.
Daniel Marek's systematic work bore fruit. Daniel can be proud of the Gurman Awards, where he placed second in the Top Chefs 2018 category, and the Top Trend Chefs 2019 award.
The successfully launched career of one of the top chefs in Slovakia, Daniel Marek, took a new direction with the birth of his daughter. The call to return home became stronger and stronger, and Daniel moved his work activities to his native Dubnica nad Váhom. As a chef at the Elite restaurant, he received the award for one of the Top 5 hotel restaurants in Slovakia after just one year of operation, and Daniel could boast of being ranked in the Top 10 best chefs in Slovakia.
Career path to Hotel Elizabeth in Trenčín
Later, he used his work experience to open Baske Villa in Trenčianske Teplice, where he applied for the position of chef. However, after preparing a tasting menu, the decision was made and Daniel worked as a chef in Trenčianske Teplice for 1 year.
Good things have to wait and, as Daniel himself says: "When I saw the offer for the position of Executive chef at the Hotel Elizabeth, it was decided."
We are very happy with this decision, we welcome Daniel and look forward to every proposal from his workshop, which is a fantastic gastronomic experience, an experience not only for the taste, but also for the eye.
